Jon Lloyd, Chief Executive, UK COAL

Jon LloydJON LLOYD, 52, is Chief Executive of UK COAL PLC, a mining, property and power company employing 3,100 people with its headquarters at Harworth Park, Harworth, near Doncaster, South Yorkshire. UK COAL is Britain's biggest coal producer, and one of the country's largest brownfield site property developers.

Jon joined the UK COAL Board as Property Director on July 3, 2006, was appointed Chief Executive Designate from June 1, 2007 and became Group Chief Executive on September 1, 2007.

A native of Chester, Jon is a Chartered Surveyor who held senior roles at Yorkshire Water Plc and the North Region of DTZ Debenham Thorpe before moving to the Halifax Property Group in 1997. On the merger of the Halifax and the Bank of Scotland in 2001, Jon became Deputy Head of Group Property for the merged HBOS plc, and was appointed Head of Group Property in 2004, a position he held until he joined UK COAL.
