Li Shirong (Professor)
Deputy Director of Chongqing Foreign Trade & Economic Relations Commission / Vice president of CIOB

Li ShirongProfessor Li Shirong works in Chongqing Foreign Trade & Economic Relations Commission as deputy director, being responsible for promotion of foreign investment in Chongqing. Between 2003 and 2006, She worked in local government Shapingba District as vice mayor, be responsible for urban development and construction. She is also the president - elect of CIOB (2009-2010).

Li Shirong is also a part-time professor of construction management of Chongqing University. Her academic work focuses on China's construction industry in transition, sustainable urbanization, government role in construction, construction project management, international construction market and higher education in construction. Until now, Professor Li has published more than 170 academic papers and 26 books in both China and abroad. She got her first degree in civil engineering in 1982 and MSc degree in construction management in 1987. She also got her PhD degree in University of Reading UK in 1998, specialized in Construction Economics and Management.

Professor Li got four British professional qualifications, including the chartered Environmentalist of the Society for the Environment (CEnv), and the Fellows of the Chartered Institute of Building, the Royal Institution of Chartered Survey and the Institution of Civil Engineers (FCIOB, FRICS and FICE). She is also the members of the industrialised building advisory committee and the Construction health and safety advisory committee for the Ministry of Construction.
